The service brings together in one search engine the drugs in development worldwide and the safety alerts of the medicines agencies. Free until 31 March 2027.
Which drugs are being tested for a disease, how far they have got, whether a trial is looking for patients in Italy, when a regulatory decision is expected. This information is public, but scattered across international registries, agencies and documents. Phuturdex (phuturdex.com) brings it together in one service in Italian, English, French and German, linking every fact to the official source it comes from.
The figures, as of 30 October 2026, show the scale of the research under way. Worldwide Phuturdex follows 30,485 active clinical trials on over 8,700 identified drugs, in 152 countries. In Italy 2,477 active trials have at least one site and involve 1,351 drugs: 774 are not yet approved in the United States and 305 of these are studied for rare diseases. For non-small cell lung cancer alone, 89 experimental drugs are being studied in Italy too.
For every drug Phuturdex shows the ongoing trials, phase, countries and recruitment status, approvals in the United States and the European Union, orphan designations, patents and regulatory dates. Next to the pipeline there is an alert service on medicines already on the market: safety communications, recalls and shortages published by EMA, FDA and the national agencies of Italy (AIFA), Germany, France, Spain and the United Kingdom, checked every day. Whoever follows a drug gets an email when an alert about it is published.
The method is public: the rules used to link drug names, the quality checks and the limits of the data are described on the Method and sources page. No figure is estimated without saying so, and the official source always remains the reference.
“For years I followed the development of drugs for a disease I know closely, and every time I had to search different registries, in English, without knowing whether the information was up to date,” says Nicola Ramorino, founder of Phuturdex. “Phuturdex was born to answer a simple question in a minute: what is coming for this disease, and how far has it got. We are opening it free to physicians, researchers, companies and patient associations, and all we ask in return is to tell us what works and what is missing.”
Early access. Until 31 March 2027 the service is completely free: you enter from phuturdex.com/app with your email, no password and nothing to install: it works in the browser on computers, tablets and phones. Those who join in this phase will have reserved terms when paid plans start.
